As part of the technical seminar organized by the Bitafal Sustainable Asphalts Chair – UM, we participated with a presentation focused on the Structural Evaluation of Flexible Pavements based on data obtained through deflectometric testing.
During the presentation, we covered the fundamentals of deflectometric analysis and the technical criteria used for interpreting results—key tools for the structural assessment of pavements using Falling Weight Deflectometers (FWD/HWD).
The activity also included a live demonstration of pavement testing equipment, allowing attendees to closely observe their operation and understand the value they bring to decision-making in pavement maintenance and rehabilitation.
🙌 We thank the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad de Montevideo and Bitafal for the invitation, and all attendees for their interest and active participation.

We took part in the technical visit to the dual carriageway project on Route 9, connecting Pan de Azúcar and Rocha. The event was organized by Traxpalco and the Uruguayan Road Association, together with students from the Faculty of Engineering. 🎊
✨️In a month especially dedicated to road safety 🎗️, this project represents a major step forward, significantly improving safety conditions along more than 100 km of road.
🙌 At CDS, we are proud to have contributed to such an important project for the country’s development, and to have shared this experience with the next generation of professionals.
This Tuesday, May 6th, at 12:30 p.m., we were present at the launch of the Yellow May month 🎗️ of activities at the National Youth Institute. This movement in Uruguay aims to raise awareness about road traffic accidents, which remain the leading cause of death among young people aged 15 to 29, according to the WHO (2015).
At CDS, we remain committed to promoting safe practices and sharing essential knowledge with all road users.
CDS Ingenieros marks a milestone in pavement evaluation in Uruguay with the incorporation of the country’s first Heavy Weight Deflectometer (HWD) 🚀. This advanced pavement structural evaluation equipment provides precise data on load capacity and surface behavior, revolutionizing the analysis and maintenance of road and airport infrastructure.
The HWD is a state-of-the-art tool that simulates loads applied by aircraft and heavy vehicles ✈️🚛, providing key information for decision-making in pavement design and rehabilitation. Thanks to this technology, CDS Ingenieros strengthens its leadership in pavement engineering, offering innovative solutions backed by scientific data.
The arrival of this equipment in Uruguay represents a significant advancement for the sector, allowing for optimized pavement management and ensuring greater safety and efficiency in communication routes 🛣️. CDS Ingenieros continues to invest in modernization and technological development, reinforcing its commitment to quality and excellence in the field of road and airport infrastructure.
✨ After Closing a Great 2024, We Embark on a 2025 Full of New Challenges ✨
At CDS Ingenieros, we wrapped up a year filled with achievements and learning experiences with our strategic planning meeting, where we aligned our goals and projected a 2025 full of new opportunities.
This space allowed us to reflect on what we have accomplished, strengthen our vision as a team, and chart the path toward a promising future.
We extend our gratitude to every member of our team, our clients, and our strategic partners for being part of this journey.
We are ready to begin a new chapter with renewed energy and commitment!

We are proud to have completed the course “Advanced Characterization of Road Materials,” a highly valuable experience that concluded with a guided visit to the Road Laboratory at IMAE. This event, held at the Institute of Applied Mechanics and Structures (IMAE) of the National University of Rosario (UNR), allowed us to deepen our understanding of road materials and their application in the sector.
We extend our special thanks to Eng. Silvia Angelone, Eng. Fernando O. Martínez, Eng. Marina Cauhapé Casaux, and Eng. Luis Zorzutti for their dedication and for sharing their valuable knowledge, both in the classroom and in the laboratory.
This learning experience strengthens our expertise in road material characterization and motivates us to continue advancing in the development of innovative technologies and methodologies in the field of pavements. We keep growing! 🚀
😊 We are proud to share that on July 15th, we were recognized by LSQA and IQNet with the ISO 9001:2015 certification, a testament to our ongoing commitment to quality 🏅 and excellence in our services.
🚀 This achievement strengthens our focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction, ensuring that our processes meet the highest international standards.
🤗 We extend our gratitude to our entire team for their dedication and hard work, as well as to our clients for their trust and constant support. 👏
We will continue working with the same passion and commitment to offer you the best!
✨️ As sponsors and with a large part of our great technical team, we participated in the 11th Technical Asphalt Conference organized by the Uruguayan Association of Roads and the Permanent Asphalt Commission (CPA). 👏
👉 This event is a key space to learn about and share the latest innovations in asphalt paving technologies, featuring presentations from prominent experts both nationally and internationally. 👨🏫
🚀 We are excited to continue expanding our knowledge to offer the best to our clients. 🏅
🤗 Recently, we had the honor of presenting our FWD (Falling Weight Deflectometer) at the “Pavement Evaluation” Workshop, organized by the Institute of Structures and Transport of the Faculty of Engineering, University of the Republic (Udelar) 🤓
During this event, our Head of Services, Eng. Gonzalo Canepa, gave a presentation 👨🏫 highlighting the use of this technology in the structural evaluation of pavements, addressing its application in diagnostics, rehabilitation, asset management, and more.
👉 In addition, the main empirical-mechanistic and incremental design approaches, which the consulting firm regularly works with, were explored, outlining deficiencies and research directions for future developments. 🚀
At the end of the day, along with AS Matías Clavijo 🦺, we showcased the equipment owned by CDS Ingenieros, giving students the opportunity to interact directly with it, ask questions, and dive deeper into its operation. ✌🏽
🙏 We would like to thank all the students and professors present for their active participation and for making this workshop an enriching experience for everyone.
